David Amsellem graduated from the French engineering university Centrale Supélec in 2001 and began his career as a founding shareholder of Poweo. Described by his mentor Charles Beigbeder as “a hard worker, monstrously efficient”, from his beginnings David Amsellem has been defined by a rigorous work ethic combined with an ingenious thirst for innovation. In 2007, after a pursuit of energy trading in Switzerland, he saw an opportunity in a still developing market: private concierge services. At the age of twenty-nine, David decided to invest in the industry… a few months later John Paul was born.
Since its inception John Paul has been characterized by forward thinking and technological advancement. David Amsellem sought to define John Paul’s role not only as the bridge between private concierge services and businesses, but as an active revolutionizer of the industry, reinventing concierge know-how with the tools of today’s Digital Age. This vision has not ceased to fascinate and attract the biggest companies who rely on John Paul to drive long-term loyalty and advocacy with their clients. Today John Paul has over 1000 employees across the five continents and joined the AccorHotels Group in November 2016.
As the CEO of John Paul Group, he drove the international development of the business with the same passion for excellence that catalyzed the creation of the company. David considers hospitality an art form to be practiced at home as in business. He is a member of the AccorHotels Extended Executive Committee and the board of Arsene Taxand. David is also an active investor in digital and consumer services & several well-known French start-ups. As of March 2018, he holds the position of Chairman. He continues to be closely involved in John Paul, especially in the strategy and business development of the group.
Jérôme Richard graduated from Centrale-Supelec in 2002 and spent the first part of his career at the Boston Consulting Group. He entered Schneider Electric in 2010 to drive key leadership roles in procurement then in business development.
Jérôme joined John Paul as CEO France at the beginning of 2016. As of March 2018, he holds the position of Group Chief Executive Officer.
As Chief Executive Officer of John Paul Americas since 2017, Amber is responsible for overall company performance in the Americas, building on recent successes and ensuring the continued growth of the business. She has a wealth of experience working closely with senior business leaders across a range of industries including Hospitality, Financial Services, Tech, Luxury, Retail, and Automotive, bringing high-level strategic consulting expertise to our North American clients and partners. Amber spent the past five years in the Concierge industry where she was responsible for growing the USA and Canadian markets for an international lifestyle company. Prior to this she spent 14 years in the banking industry, where she held a variety of leadership roles, most notably within Card, Retail Banking and Wealth Management.
Amber resides in New York City, and splits her time between our four N. American offices in Manhattan, Miami, San Francisco and Toronto.
Andrew Quake is an established senior business leader with over 20 years of experience across P&L management, business development & sales, account management, customer experience, operations, and strategy. Andrew holds an MBA degree from London Business School. He has worked in leadership positions at an international lifestyle and concierge company, with global leaders in the payments industry and was a management consultant at a blue chip strategy consulting company.
With a proven track record in building new businesses combined with deep knowledge of the Asia Pacific markets, Andrew is now responsible for the growth of John Paul’s business and footprint in the Asia Pacific Region, excluding Singapore.
Neil run his own consulting firm for the previous 7 years, developing and executing growth strategies for businesses such as Virgin Galactic, Kobalt Music, Endemol Shine and many more. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of BBC Worldwide’s Licensing business, overseeing the commercial development of global media properties such as The Teletubbies, Top Gear, Doctor Who and Dancing With The Stars; he was Business Development Director for Sparrowhawak Media, delivering a 2x return on investment for its Private Equity owners over a 2-year period, and worked for LEK Consulting across a wide range of industries. Neil has an MBA and an MSc in Strategy & Leadership from London Business School.
He joined John Paul in January 2018.
After graduating from ESTACA in engineering, Charles Kessous worked in a various sectors in France and the United States for companies such as Esprit, Alten and CGI. He worked in operational management and development for ten years before embarking on a career as an independent consultant until joining John Paul at the end of 2008.
Charles is now Executive Vice President Global Operations at John Paul and is one of the pioneers who marked the development of the company.
David holds a degree in engineering from SUPELEC and an Executive MBA from INSEAD and began his career at Danone in the United States. In 2001, he decided to join a consulting firm working for the Orange Group and for a financial institution on CRM redesign projects, launching new products or piloting e-commerce activities. In 2008, he decided to become an entrepreneur with the investment fund Otium Capital. David then joined Weekendesk as Product and Engineering Director and subsequently worked on the development of the hotel label TemptingPlaces to launch its new digital strategy.
In 2014, seduced by the John Paul adventure, he joined the management team as Chief Digital Officer to structure the digital concierge platform.
Julie Vignaux graduated from the Ecole de Management de Normandie and soon after became one of John Paul’s first employees. She supported the company’s development and helped drive it to a leadership position through innovative products, creative marketing, and a unique customer experience approach. Julie has undergone a remarkable evolution within the company, starting as a project manager and then becoming the group Marketing Officer.
After a one-year period working in the APAC region to scale up John Paul’s position, she was appointed Chief Strategy Officer in 2018.
After having studied engineering at Centrale Supélec, Damien started as a Strategy Adviser (McKinsey), and developed his know-how and skills in customer relations at Webhelp, where he grew and directed the Business Unit dedicated to travel agents.
He joined John Paul at the beginning of 2017, after having already served as Director of Operations at Marco et Vasco (Tour operator specialized in tailor-made travel). He was appointed COO EMEA in March 2018 and is now in charge of Operations as a whole (management, quality management, recruitment, training, scheduling, coaching, etc.) at the 5 sites belonging to EMEA (Paris, London, Lisbon, Luxembourg, and Marrakesh).
Fabien started his career with PWC as an auditor in banking then TICE where he handled clients such as Sony Music, Michelin and BNP Paribas Asset Management. Subsequently, he joined JG Events-Quintessentially (event agency and private concierge). He then worked for Dagobert (the leading agency in digital communication) where set up the Administrative and Financial Department and also held the roles of Human Resources and Legal Director.
Fabien joined John Paul in 2012 to create the Administrative and Financial Department. He manages, with the help of his teams, the financial and legal activities of the group. He is Executive Vice-President and member of the Operating Committee for France.
Stéphanie had the opportunity to start her career in various sectors and organizations, from large French banks (Banques Populaires, Caisse d’Epargne) to innovative SMEs. She subsequently joined Carte Bleue, then Visa as Head of Legal Affairs France (and Southern Europe).
It was on this occasion that she met John Paul and joined the group in March 2017. She co-ordinates and manages in collaboration with Fabien Davidowicz and her legal team all the legal activities of France and John Paul Group.
Donna has 12 years of experience in a variety of roles including events management for the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a sales representative for Nestlé France and more recently in the strategy section at LVMH. She has lived for several years in each of the following countries: France, Belgium, Cuba, Italy, USA, Japan and speaks English, French, Spanish, Italian & Japanese fluently. Donna is a classically trained musician and graduate. She holds a Master degree in European Cultural Administration from the University of Warwick and a second Master in Brand Strategy from Celsa-Paris Sorbonne University.
She joined John Paul in January 2017.
